Our very first Goatz Kidz Club event was one for the books! The shop was packed with young collectors and families, and the energy in the room was exactly what the hobby is all about — kids learning, collecting, trading, and having fun together.
Seeing so many young hobbyists excited about cards reminded us why we started Goatz in the first place: building a welcoming, family-friendly community around the hobby.
A Full House of Future Collectors
The turnout for our first Kidz Club event was incredible. We had a full house of kids ready to rip packs, talk cards, and share their favorite pulls with one another. The break table was buzzing as new collectors opened cards, asked questions, and learned more about the hobby.
Events like this are a great way for kids to:
- Learn about sports cards and collecting
- Practice trading and sportsmanship
- Meet other young collectors in the community
- Build confidence sharing their favorite players and cards
Special Guest: Brandon Guyer
We were also honored to have a very special guest stop by.
Former MLB player and Herndon High School graduate Brandon Guyer joined us along with his family to spend time with the kids and help make the event even more memorable.
Brandon graciously:
- Signed autographs for the kids
- Took photos with families
- Shared stories from his time playing in the Major Leagues
- Talked with young collectors about baseball and the hobby
Having a local MLB player come back to support young collectors in the community meant a lot to everyone in the shop.
A huge thank you to Brandon and his family for taking the time to stop by and make the day so special for the kids.
Just the Beginning for Goatz Kidz Club
Our first Kidz Club event was an amazing start, and we’re already looking forward to making the next one even better.
For future events, we’re planning to add even more adult interaction and participation so parents can get involved alongside their kids and help build an even stronger hobby community.
