On a frigid January morning in Herndon, Virginia, the energy outside our doors told a story no temperature could dampen. Our grand opening celebration brought together families, collectors, kids, and community members — many of whom lined up early, forming a line that stretched all the way down to the hotel. The overwhelming turnout on such a cold day was a powerful reminder of the strength and enthusiasm of the Herndon community.

We were honored to welcome Keven LeBlanc, Mayor of Herndon, who led our official ribbon cutting ceremony and helped mark the opening of our new shop. Surrounded by supporters and smiling faces, the moment symbolized more than just the launch of a business — it represented a new community hub built around fun, connection, and shared passion. In a moment we’ll always treasure, the mayor proudly referred to us as “The Goatz of Herndon.”

Inside, the celebration continued with something for everyone. Guests enjoyed cupcakes and cookies, adding a sweet touch to the day, while our photo area allowed visitors to capture memories from the event. Collectors gathered around a dedicated pack-opening table, where excitement filled the room as cards were ripped, trades were made, and big pulls were celebrated together.

Throughout the day, we kept the momentum high with hourly giveaways, selecting 10 lucky winners. The anticipation and cheers created an electric atmosphere that carried through the entire event, rewarding attendees and keeping the excitement going from open to close.

We also made sure our youngest visitors had a day to remember. Kids took part in a scavenger hunt for prizes and got creative with our “Color Your Own Goatz Trading Card” activity. Watching kids explore the shop, proudly show off their artwork, and celebrate their prizes was one of the highlights of the day.

Our grand opening was about more than just opening our doors — it was about building a place where people can gather, share experiences, and create memories. From seasoned collectors to first-time visitors, the support we received was truly overwhelming.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who braved the cold, waited in line, and helped make our Herndon grand opening event unforgettable. If opening day was any indication, the future is bright — and we’re just getting started.

We’re proud to call Herndon home and even prouder to be known, in the mayor’s words, as the Goatz of Herndon. Check out additional customer photos in the gallery below.
